Family Strategic
Planning
We feel it is
important for every member of our family to know the
direction our family is going. I have sought to
clarify and solidify that direction in two documents we
can use to check our status- our family vision and our
family goals. Of course the Scripture is the
authority, but I have sought to make Scriptural
application here specific to our family.
Family
Vision
Be a family that will bring
glory to God by exhibiting the pure and Godly
relationships
as described in Scripture, including
the blessings of living out God's design for families as
well as faithfully accepting our responsibilities as God's
children and passing on this model as a
legacy
to future generations of our family.
Family
Goals
Our goals are broken into three
areas, as taken from our Family Vision:
relationships, responsibilities, and legacy. By focusing our goals to
support our family vision, we hope it will bring us
closer to realizing the vision we feel God has given us
for our family. We also seek to evaluate specific
activities, and constantly seek to focus our activities
on our goals. By doing this, we hope to minimize
activities that will divert us from accomplishing or
moving closer to our family vision. Certainly, we
want to allocate resources (especially time and money) to
things that support the direction we are supposed to be
moving. Let me also say these goals are goals - and
we do not intend to imply we have accomplished
them. We simply want to move in this direction, as
we feel this is where the Lord would have us to go.
I also expect as we go along, I will find other goals
that need to be added to the list, that for whatever
reason I failed to include at this
time.
