Responsibilities Goals

1.  Training Children – Goals as follows: 

    A.  Home school – Be academically well educated (2 Timothy 2:15 ) 

    B.  Gender-Specific Training – Teaching our children to be Godly ladies/gentlemen (Psalm 144:12-13, Titus 2:1-8) 

    C.  Godly spouse, sibling, etc  (Titus 2:1-8) 

    D. Eliminate rebellion / create obedience and submission (1 Samuel 15:23 , Proverbs 17:11 , Psalm 68:6) 

    E.  Eliminate anger in our hearts and the hearts of our children  (1 Thessalonians 5:16 -18, Proverbs 16:32 , Proverbs 19:11 , Ecclesiastes 7:9, Ephesians 4:31 -32, Colossians 3:8) 

    F.  Gain/keep the hearts of our children so we may direct them to the Lord (Proverbs 4:4, Proverbs 2:1-2, Proverbs 3:1-6, Proverbs 23:15 -17, Proverbs 23:26 )

2.  Debt-Free Living – Living debt-free and teaching the children to never be in debt (Romans 13:8) 

    A.  Create businesses for the family that can be passed to children (1 Thessalonians 4:10 -12) 

    B.  Live within our means / be content (1 Timothy 6:6-8, Proverbs 27:20, Philippians 2:14 -15)  

    C.  Provide houses for boys/ perhaps for husbands of girls so they will not begin life with a mortgage   (Proverbs 19:14 )

3.  Scripture Memorization  (Psalm 119:11; Isaiah 59:21)

4.  Avoid sin in all situations (Proverbs 4:14 -15, Psalm 4:4, 1 Corinthians 15:34 , 1 John 2:1, 1 Thessalonians 5:22 , Psalm 97:10, Psalm 84:11) - sin is defined as “To depart voluntarily from the path of duty prescribed by God to man”  (definition taken from American Dictionary of the English Language, Noah Webster, 1828) 

5.  Confess our sins to the Lord (1 John 1:9, Proverbs 28:13)
